Yangpu Port, Hainan: Flagship Hub of the Free Trade Port

Located in the northwest of Hainan Island, Yangpu Port is a Class I open port and serves as both a “pioneering zone” and “showcase” for Hainan's free trade port development. As a natural deep-water port adjacent to international shipping lanes, it possesses superior geographical conditions for building an international hub seaport.

In recent years, Yangpu Port has accelerated its development. By 2025, with the launch of Hainan's island-wide customs clearance operations, Yangpu Port will serve as a critical gateway, experiencing rapid growth in cargo volume. Its core project—the expansion of Yangpu International Container Terminal—will add multiple 200,000-ton ultra-large berths, boosting the terminal's annual throughput capacity to 5 million TEUs. This will enable it to effortlessly handle the world's largest container vessels.

The “China Yangpu Port” flag policy serves as the core engine driving its development. This innovative system has attracted a large number of international vessels to register, making the “China Yangpu Port” fleet the largest among all free trade ports in China. Leveraging this advantage, Yangpu Port has launched over 60 domestic and international shipping routes, with its network covering Southeast Asia, North America, the Middle East, and Europe, establishing a preliminary “dual-hub, two-way” shipping pattern.

Simultaneously, Yangpu Port is vigorously developing high-end shipping services such as bonded fuel bunkering, international transshipment, and cold chain logistics, while deepening cooperation with major international ports like Singapore Port. Moving forward, Yangpu Port will continue to enhance its infrastructure and service capabilities, striving to become a vital international shipping hub connecting the Pacific and Indian Oceans.
